The Berkley School District, The City of Huntington Woods Parks & Recreation Department, and the Community Corps Team are excited to announce a joint venture expanding the Peer Pal Program beginning this summer. An outgrowth of a recent "Community Conversation" probing ways to improve the social/recreational and employment opportunities for youth with special needs, we hope you and your child will continue to Get Planted in the community.
Update, Sept 2014-
Thanks to a partnership between Mary Blazevich Geskey (6th grade parent), Tracy Shanley at the Huntington Woods Rec Center, Liz Siegel at Anderson Middle School, and some fabulous 6th graders, our summer-long peer-to-peer program was a success! We are thrilled about this pilot program and excited to expand it into the 2014/15 school year!
